South Pacific Cruise - Day 17
Bora Bora, Tahiti
Day 17 of our South Pacific brought us to the breath taking island of Bora Bora. It was everything everyone has ever said and more. The water simply asks you to jump in with the deep turquoise and white sands. We got out first thing in the morning and took an excursion to swim with the sharks and manta rays. What a great experience. The short boat ride takes you to the shallows at the end of the island. You can stand in the water as the rays and sharks swim all around you. No one was bit and no one died. So we had that going for us.
The boat ride back to brought us by all the iconic over water bungalows. If you ever have a chance to stay in one, you absolutely have to do it. We stayed in one in the Maldives in 2019. Check out that story here.
Back on land, we had to have lunch at the iconic Bloody Mary’s. Yes I had the bloody mary and it was good. We walked through town and did a little shopping. This is a place we will absolutely return to.
Departing Bora Bora this evening we continue our journey north to Hawaii. We will not set foot on land again for another 5 days and look forward to our final days of absorbing this great experience and all that we have gained from it. Thank you all for following our journey.
