Cannes & Nice, France | Monaco
This is the first of many busy days of exploring and experiencing as part of our 12-day Mediterranean Cruise. Today we visit 3 amazing cities and 2 countries. We started our day being tendered to Cannes, then boarded a bus that took us to Nice, where explored the city, took in the amazing architecture and enjoyed some food in a small cafe. We were really early in French time so they were a little confuse with us asking for lunch. It also may have been we were American, but we did ok.
Monaco
From Nice we headed to the second smallest country in the world, Monaco. At one point during the trip to Monaco across the hillside, I was able to take a picture of 3 countries in 1 shot – France, Monaco and Italy. How cool in that? We drove the Grand Prix of Monaco Formula 1 course, saw all the famous hotels and the amazing yachts parked in this small tax haven. We were a few million dollars shy of moving there, but what an amazing place. As a home builder, the engineering of building this small country into the hillside is amazing. Taking in all the cars and yachts was pretty cool too.
Back On Board
Back on the ship that night was formal night – sorry no photos, as we had 8 minutes to get ready for it by the time we made it back to the ship. Exhausted, we joined Nana and Peggy for Dinner to share stories of the day. They took a bus tour of Cannes and Nice. We wrapped up the evening watching a Beatles tribute band in the main theater.
