Mykonos, Greece
What can I say… Mykonos is simply one of the most amazing places on earth. If you have not been here yet, you absolutely have to. This place is the coolest small town you’ll ever visit. We did not do a planned tour today and chose to wonder around. This was the best decision we could have made.
Our arrival at sunrise had us sliding in and anchoring between a couple of mega yachts. One of which didn’t like us blocking their view, so they pulled anchor and moved down the coast. #roughlife
Exploring Mykonos
After a short tender ride to shore, we explored the narrow and breathtaking streets of Mykonos. Since we arrived early in the morning, we got to experience the delivery process to all the shops and restaurants. With no addresses and streets barely wider than the delivery vehicles, this was fascinating to experience. Really small vans, scooters and other modes of transportation buzzed through ridiculously small unnamed streets to make deliveries to doors that had no address. I have no clue how they pulled this off, but they all seemed to do it flawlessly and with perfect patience as they work around us clueless tourists. The mix of residential and commercial space in an intimate urban atmosphere was something that got my homebuilding brain running wild. The other interesting thing was how many awesome logos, solid design, and decor most businesses and restaurants had. My marketing side was ecstatic.
Back On Board
This was, by far, our favorite stop of the trip so far and our shopping bill reflected it. We found tons of great jewelry, clothing and gifts for friends and family. I could go on for days about this town, but I won’t bore you. If you’ve never been, you need to add Mykonos Greece to your list of great places to see.
