South Pacific Cruise – Papeete Tahiti

Day 15 of our 26-day Epic Adventure through the South Pacific brought us to the capitol of Tahiti, Papeete.  This is the first time we’ve walked on land in 5-days.  What a weird sensation. We stayed in the main town and did not venture across the island. We decided to not do any tours and just walk in to town and see what we could find. This is not the romantic South Pacific oasis you see in photos. That’s at the resorts on the other side of the island. The main town is a basic, commercial area. Surprisingly there’s not a lot of shopping, which you would expect in a town that greets cruise ships and is the capitol of this island paradise. We enjoyed the town, but are ready for the beautiful island of Moorea tomorrow. Our bellies are full of food, our hearts are filled with love and we are simply full of life right now. Upon returning to our room after dinner back on the ship, our dining team was so sweet to send us champagne and strawberries as a special treat since tomorrow is the big day of our wedding vow renewal. We enjoyed the treats and finished packing dresses (yes Julie has 2 for tomorrow), outfits for the boys for our photo shoot, re-reading our vows and getting ready for the pinnacle day of our Epic Adventure.
